Shepard sketches.

I’ve become a lot more comfortable with my pencils of late. This last year has been a great lesson in diligence. Keep drawing, no matter what, and you will improve. Just keep trying new things and be as fearless as you can manage. It will be worth it.

The same holds true for writing - hell, for anything creative.

I’ve spent a lot of my life trying to measure up to artists I admire and respect, never realizing that I don’t have to be like them to be good at what I do. That’s the beauty of art. What we create is, at its best, a reflection of us. Who we are. What we feel. How we relate to the world. If it were all the same it would be boring.

Anyway. Enough of my morning ramble. I need to make all the coffee.

When it comes to this series, I have all the feelings. SO MANY SPACE FEELINGS!

I admire Bioware for basically getting to the end and breaking all their toys. You may not agree with the ending(s)… hell, you might hate them. But they made you feel something. You care about these characters and about the worlds they inhabit.

In my humble opinion, that is proof of a compelling and powerful story.

I have played every Mass Effect game. Done every side quest. Talked to every possible person. It was one hell of a ride and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I got to play a bad ass lady space soldier who kicked butt, had pet fish, romanced an asari archeologist and collected model ships. She made tough decisions and stayed true to herself and her friends. She was a hero, through and through. Nothing can change that.

I am proud of her.

I have been awol for a while. Mostly due to vacation then back to work stress. Drew a ton in a new sketchbook. I will post the images soon. Pretty damn happy with them… for once.
